Everyone has secrets, good or bad. I came upon some facts of the Victorian Era that may be 'secret' to us.
Did you know they considered it rude for a man to offer his seat when a lady entered the room? Why? Because the seat may still be (gasp) warm.
People thought food digested better in the dark, so a dining room located in the basement was considered the best place to eat. AND to control insects there, many folks kept a hedgehog in aforementioned dining area. Not my idea of five star dining.
Don't even ASK me what I found out about rocking chairs.
